CSSA/SASSA Rugby Trials

This year SASSA (Southern Anglican Schools Sports Association) will be holding 16&U and Open Boys Rugby Trials on Wednesday 10 April 2024 to select two squads to attend the AICES Rugby Trials on Tuesday 28 May 2024.

Due to our long history with SASSA Rugby students from CSSA have been invited to attend these trials.

Note:

1. CSSA players MUST attend the SASSA trials to be considered for the AICES Championships

2. Any player that lives more than four hours from the trials venue (Kiama) can apply to be "considered without trialling". It will be at the discretion of the convenor and the boys playing history if he will be selected.

AICES 16&U and Open Boys Rugby Trials 2024

Date: Tuesday 28 May 2024

Venue: T G Milner Fields Eastwood    146-150 Vimiera Road Marsfield, Sydney 2122

Format

• The trials will be Association Team based.
• The format will be Rugby 15's (or 10's for association with smaller numbers) for the association v association games then if required 15's for the final trial. 
• Associations who do not field a team may nominate individual players. A maximum 10 players can be nominated from an association not fielding a team. The nomination form must include two positions the player wishes to be considered for and must include a player Representative History. These nominations must still come through the association - not individual schools.
• Christian Schools and North Coast Schools nominations must include the players school in the representative history section

General Information

• All players must be available for ALL of the following dates to be considered for selection:

• 2024 Dates
  Tuesday 28th May 2024 - AICES Rugby Trials
  Saturday 22nd June  2024 - AICES Rugby Camp commences at 9.00am (arrive 8.30am)
  Sunday 23rd June  2024 - AICES Rugby Camp concludes 3.00pm 

AICES Rugby Camp

• There will be a compulsory AICES Rugby Camp at Sydney Academy of Sport - Narrabeen for all boys selected in the AICES Teams. This camp will commence at 9.00am (arrive at 8.30am) on Saturday 22nd June 2024 and conclude on Sunday 23rd June 2024. Approximate cost will be $280

Acceptance of Selection

• If you have been selected in the AICES Team to play at the NSWSRU Trials you must complete the online Player Acceptance Form before Monday morning to confirm. Failure to comply with this timeline may result in the offer to play for AICES being withdrawn. The link to this form can be found in the menu on the front page of the AICES Website. Shadows must also fill in a Player Acceptance Form.

Unless you already have the items below you must order them online with the Player Acceptance Form

• AICES Jacket - $70.00

There will also be a general levy to cover the physio and playing uniform which players will keep after the final game. This levy is as follows: 

• AICES Playing Uniform - $100.00
• General Levy - $70.00

This will be charged back through your school next term. Uniform will be issued on arrival at camp.
